- Newsletter form: if you fill in the form in our footer, we receive the name and email address you enter. The entry is stored in our website database and sent to us by email.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and comment you submit, along with your IP address and browser details, to help detect spam. Your name and comment are shown publicly. An anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it.
- Emails: if you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
We do not sell products on this site and do not collect payment information.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and the tools below automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view and the time you spend on them.
Analytics and site tools we use
- Google Analytics: measures traffic and how pages are used. It sets cookies such as _ga. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

- Grow by Mediavine: powers features such as recommended content, sharing and saving favorites, and delivers the advertising described below. - Google Fonts and Gravatar: fonts and commenter avatars are loaded from these services, which receive your IP address when your browser requests them.
